It's a "Howdy" Challenge

Hi there! Liliana here and ready for another challenge week. Let me tell you that I am so excited today because this is my first challenge as a host. But first, I want to thank everyone who participated in last week's photo inspiration challenge, your cards were wonderful.

We also want to share some changes we are making here at Our Creative Corner.  We are changing the format for our guest designers and starting in October, we will be having Top Talent Thursdays.  Our challenge winners will be center stage on Top Talent Thursday.  We'll bring you a mini interview with them and they will be able to share a project of their choice with you.  How would you like to be part of this?  All you have to do is participate in our challenges and you never know - we may pick you as our Top Talent!

The other change we are making is that we are setting a limit on the number of challenges you can combine with your submission for our challenge.  The maximum allowed will now be three plus the OCC challenge.

For this week's challenge, I have another picture to inspire you, but this time we'll go to the country.

Here are the requirements:

-Create a card or project with a country or western look. Use the photo to inspire you.
-Your project must have something plaid or gingham (checkered/tartan is acceptable too!), such as in a ribbon, or designer paper.
-Most of all, have fun!

Here is some inspiration from our talented guest designer, Birgit, and from the design team! So, let's get creating and we look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Sketch Challenge Winner

Wow, you ladies know how to make it difficult!
Thank you for all the wonderful entries in the sketch challenge, I really had a hard job deciding which card to pick as a winner.  We do hope that you will play along with the next challenge, because secretly, we actually like it when it's difficult to find a winner!
But, for me, this card ticked all the boxes and is a wonderful example of a masculine card, it follows the sketch and as an added bonus, it is monochromatic!

So, congratulations to Evelyn at Beyond Just Black and White.  Evelyn, please feel free to pick up the Top Talent winner's badge from our sidebar and display it on your blog.

Photo Inspiration Challenge

Hi everyone, it's Chris here again.
This week I have chosen a photo inspiration challenge for you.  Doesn't that cake look just divine?  I would love to be able to make cakes like that. Maybe one day I will have time to give it a go.  But in the meantime I will stick to stamping!
For your project this week, I would like you to use some element from the photo below, the colours, shapes, anything at all that inspires you.  I would also like to see two or more buttons - they can be real buttons, fabric buttons, covered buttons, die cut buttons, any sort of buttons that you can think of!  And, last but not least, use polka dots somewhere on your creation.

So, here it is in dot point:
         1. Use the photo as inspiration.
         2. Use 2 or more buttons.
         3. Use polka dots somewhere.

Here are the cards from our Guest Designer, Lisa, and from the Design Team.
Hope you fun with this one.  And please share what you have created, we love to see them.
Chris

Kiss The Card X's and O's Winner

Welcome back again!
I'd like to begin by saying that it has become painstakingly difficult to select just one card or project as the winner. If you've seen me stopping by your blogs a thousand times each, you'll know I was diligently studying, admiring, learning and enjoying every bit of talent you all offered up to us in this last challenge.  That said, I thank you all for the gorgeous inspiration and time you took to create a special card made specifically for this challenge.  I think I speak for all the DT ladies here when I say, "WOW! Would you look at that! It's beautiful."

Without further adieu,
Here is our winner for the
Kiss The Card Challenge with X's and O's...

Buttons, Congratulations to you! My attention was completely absorbed by the lush pinks and gentle oranges.  The kissing technique shows through wonderfully and I really admire the unique way you've chosen to suspend your tag. Your addition of X's and O's focused my attention and led right to the neatest little cracked glass vase I've ever seen handmade like that!
I'm certain I would be thrilled sitting in a comfy chair admiring this card while I devoured a yummy scone. ;)

Here is your winner's badge to proudly display on your blog!
Just a reminder that we are still running Chris's terrific
Sketch Challenge for a Male
with the monochromatic option.  Please join in and submit your entry.
Need even more inspiration?  Check us out on our new Facebook page too!

It's a Sketch Challenge!

Hi everyone, Chris here on this glorious sunny, Spring day!  Well, it is here in Adelaide, Australia!
Firstly, thanks for playing along with last week's Kissing technique challenge, it's always good to see the amazing creations you come up with.

This week, there are just two criteria for our challenge:
1.  Make a card for a male (it can be a male of any age....)
2.  Use the sketch below.
3. (Optional) If you wish to, you can also add an extra challenge, which is to use a Monochromatic color scheme.
Make your card as simple or as complicated as you wish, the main component here is to have fun!

Here is the sketch:

And here is some inspiration from our fabulous Guest Designer, Sandra, and from the Design Team.
So, lets's get creating, and we look forward to seeing all of your gorgeous cards.
Until next week, Happy Stamping!

Resist + Wings Winner!

I would just like to applaud all of you who contributed to our recent challenge of Resist + Wings. I was elated to see such glorious talent in everyone's fabulous works.  Picking just one was certainly not ideal for me as I found that each of you taught me something new and inspired my creativity. So for that, thank you very much!  But alas, one was chosen and here is our winner for Resist with Wings...

What a mesmerizing creation that combines two beautiful elements together, music and nature. The textures and design really speak to the viewer and entice you to turn the pages. A gorgeous project that is such a treasure!

Alison, please collect your badge to display proudly on your blog.

Also, don't forget that we still have the ongoing challenge of Kiss The Card & Twist (add X and O)!  Please join us for some more crafty fun and thank you for continuing to support our challenges at Our Creative Corner.

Kiss The Card and A Twist

Hello there! Lisa here and ohhh, what a phenomenal day it is today! It might be cold and rainy or beautiful with the sun shining where you are at, but regardless, it's the weekend and NOT Monday, so that can only be a great thing!  Well, before I begin explaining this week's new challenge, we'd just like to thank everyone who participated in lasts week's Resist With A Twist (Wings) challenge.  We certainly drew quite a bit of inspiration from all your outstanding entries so be sure to check back this coming Wednesday to see if you are the winner of that challenge.
Okay....are you ready for this?
Here is the next challenge at hand....
the KISSING TECHNIQUE and the twist is...
you have to include the letters X and O somewhere in your card or project!
For those of you who may be unaware of this technique or haven't attempted it in ages, I'm including an informational link here that should inspire you to join in.  Below is also a photo of the stamps I used to complete the kissing technique.
Here are the basic steps to follow

1.)  Ink one stamp with a light color
2.) Ink second stamp with a darker more contrasting color
3.)  Press the stamps together to fuse their designs
4.) Huff (exhale hot air onto the stamp to re-moisten the ink)
5.) Stamp the combined image on to your medium of choice (paper, foil, wax, material, chipboard, etc.)
Also: Please give credit to the stamp company you used in your card or project and don't forget to include the X and O, but mostly, HAVE FUN!!!

Here are our samples we are offering up to you this week...
